To Prime or Not to Prime?

To prime or not to prime? Makeup wearers have been asking this question for ages.

Personally, I prefer using setting sprays to ensure my makeup lasts through the day. But, for extra coverage the day of an important event I will use a primer.  Benefit’s Stay Flawless 15 hour primer is my go to.

For the best results, you have to apply the primer in small areas and immediately go over it with your foundation. This way the foundation sticks to your primed base better.

Benefit’s Porefessional gets more critical acclaim, but I have had no success with it. When I apply it, the tan paste creates a slick base and everything seems to slide right off.

Reserve primer for special occasions. It can create too thick of a layer of makeup on the skin for everyday use. To ensure your makeup lasts, a setting spray should suffice.
