BareMinerals foundation received a lot of hype initially. Mineral makeup seemed to be the golden standard for a while, but enthusiasm died down.
I still stand by my bareMinerals Original Foundation. After trying several other powders to set my liquid foundation, none gave me the coverage or the finish I was looking for.
While it is meant to be used on its own, I prefer this loose, powder foundation to layer over my liquid foundation. Since I have less that perfect skin, the combination of liquid foundation and bareMinerals covers everything flawlessly. The powder sets your makeup and gives a slight glow to the skin without ever making you shiny or oily.
An added bonus is the SPF 15 that is built in to the product. I have fair skin and won’t leave the house without some sort of SPF on my face. However, a word of warning: if you use this foundation or any other makeup product with SPF in it, it will reflect light and wash you out tremendously in flash photography.
