The packaging for the Dior Lip Glow is irresistible.
It promises to react with your body chemistry to create a shade that flatters your exact lip color.
After spending $35 on this lip product I was hoping it would enhance and beautify my natural lip color.
I was disappointed.
Every time I tried to wear this product it didn’t do anything in my opinion. It was rather moisturizing, but did not give any color at all. I did not notice a change in the pigmentation of my lips. It was basically like wearing a clear balm.
A clear balm should not cost $35. But, you will look cool pulling it out of the packaging and applying it.
This is definitely one of the pricier things in my makeup collection. Some of the colors are available from Bloomingdale’s here. I had to do some searching to find the Misty Rock color online. And $43 is a lot to pay for a single eyeshadow shade.
But, there are several redeeming qualities to this eyeshadow.
Misty Rock is a gorgeous shade of iridescent, pearly purple. It applies very smoothly and the crayon like style of eye shadow makes it super simple to travel with and apply quickly. The packaging boasts Tahitian Black Pearl Extracts as a key ingredient and it certainly seems to deliver a smooth, very luxurious and crease-proof application.
I apply it all over the lid and blend it into the crease with a matte mauve shade. Mauve from the Lorac Pro Palette or Limit from the Naked 3 Palette are both great blender shades. Drawing a thin line of the By Terry Ombre Blackstar under your bottom lash line for added sparkle.
Overall, I think this product is overpriced, but it is very deluxe and fun to use. I think the effect it gives is glittery yet very wearable. It just gives a very rich, dimensional look to the eyes. If you want to splurge and get an luxurious look on your eyes then this eyeshadow would be my recommendation.
This concealer is my current beauty favorite/savior.
The coverage is amazing and completely masks dark circles. It also helps with baggy under-eyes and gives the appearance of bright, well-rested eyes.
I’m not sure if the “treatment” claims this product makes are true, but when I’m wearing it I definitely see an improvement.
I set this concealer with a translucent powder and it has easily surpassed my Dream Lumi Touch Highlighting Concealer in my makeup rotation. This concealer is easily my favorite and the most effective one I’ve ever used.
Sometimes you just need a bright pedicure to give you a pick-me-up and set the tone for spring.
I decided to go with these two colors and give my toes a bright spring makeover.
The Deborah Lippmann Shade is absolutely one of my favorites. Who doesn’t love a chunky glitter polish?
Everyday should be sparkly like its your birthday and the L’Oreal polish has just as cute of a name that makes you feel like you’re ready to make a fun escape.
Of course I topped everything off with my Sally Hansen Quick Dry Top Coat. You can read my review of it here.
Is this our future?
All I’ve ever wanted was to reach into YouTube beauty tutorials and grab the products they’re using. Will this be possible soon???
As some one who gets very impatient waiting for nail polish to dry, this product has been a staple in my nail routine for years. It really does dry polish quicker than other topcoats and I have found that it is completely set in as little as 5 minutes. I have gone through several bottles of it and I would even say it helps my polish last longer.
This top coat also works very well as a protector for fake jewelry. I will paint this over cheap jewelry that has rhinestones to keep them from falling out or I will paint the insides of rings to keep them from changing color or leaving that black-green ring of color on my skin. Since it dries fast and has a glossy finish it works wonderfully for covering jewelry and once it dries in a matter of minutes you can’t even tell it’s there.
All in all this is a must have for manis, pedis and jewelry.
I have absolutely fallen in love with this pigment lately. It is a gorgeous pale gold color, but when you apply it to the eyelid it appears to be very light, almost white and glossy. This pigment is perfect for summer and gives a great pop to the center of your eyelid when applied lightly over other colors.
I love pairing this pigment with the Makeup Geeks eye shadows in Beaches and Cream and Peach Smoothie blended together in the crease. They make a very subtle and light transition shade that gives definition to the crease while really letting the pigment shine.
I think that this pigment is very wearable and functional. I would even use it as an inner corner highlight if you wanted extra impact.
I am a huge fan of all the Makeup Geek products I have tried (their gel liner and eye shadows). For the prices, their products are well worth it and I have already found myself reaching for this pigment very often.
After a brief affair with Benefit’s They’re Real and L’Oreal’s Voluminous Mascaras, I am back to Maybelline’s The Falsies. In the colder months I could get away with using other non-waterproof mascaras. But, now that it is heating up again those products started to smudge and leave me with black marks under my brows. I need a waterproof mascara that isn’t going to smudge when I sweat or run when I swim.
The Falsies has been in my makeup bag for as long as I can remember and is all I use when I am on the go or need a touch up.
I find that is requires fewer coats to achieve the look of fuller and longer lashes and the waterproof formula doesn’t budge when I go swimming or to the beach.
If I had to choose only one mascara to use until the end of time this one would be my pick.
PS. I also mentioned this product in my prom must-haves post, you can find it here.
