I recently had my hair color updated!
For the fall I got some darker and lighter pieces put in and it made my hair more multidimensional.
I’m loving it!
This all pink look is my favorite effortless look for summer.
With Labor Day right around the corner it’s time for posts on summery makeup to come to an end. But, you can still rock this look until the weather cools off. Here are the key ingredients:
–Revlon Lip Butter in Sorbet: We all know I have an obsession with the Revlon Lip Butters. This color is a super cute, bright pink that I think screams, “Summer!”
–e.l.f. Studio Blush in Pink Passion: It’s only $3! Enough said. Surprisingly pigmented and shimmer-free. Worth it.
– L’Oreal Infallible Eyeshadow in Amber Rush: This product is BEAUTIFUL. Especially if you have blue or green eyes this metallic pink color will complement your eyes beautifully. I use my finger to apply it to my lids then blend it out with Makeup Geek eye shadow in Peach Smoothie on a fluffy brush.
You can apply these products on their own or with as much foundation and additional products as you like. I use this ensemble with my full face foundation routine, but you could just as easily use these three along with a BB cream for a lighter summer look.
EcoTools is a line of eco-friendly makeup brushes with bamboo handles. They are very soft and found in the drugstore; I buy mine at Ulta.
I bought this Deluxe Fan Brush for powder highlighters because I think the fan shape applies highlight to the cheekbones in one effortless swipe.
This brush is super soft, I love using it for my highlight and at only $6.99 I think you get your money’s worth while being environmentally conscious.
I dragged my feet for quite a while before committing to purchasing this product. Even though it is inexpensive and I saw it in Ulta and the drugstore many, many times, I was always weary of white eyeliner.
White eyeliner never quite looked right on me and was always hard to keep in place on my waterline.
The NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Milk pleasantly surprised me.
I still had trouble getting it to stay put in my waterline, but the versatility of this product makes is SO worth it.
My favorite thing to do with this product is to cover my lid with it as an eye shadow base. Colors, especially lighter ones, then show up much brighter and truer.
You can even smudge it under the brow bone for a dramatic highlight.
Overall, this is a multipurpose product that I would definitely recommend for the price.
Today was all about the purples.
The By Terry Ombre Blackstar in Misty Rock was my starting point. I absolutely love the sparkly and sophisticated look it gives to the eyes with just a simple swipe. (Check out my in depth review here.) I placed Misty Rock all over the lid and along the lower lash line and blended it out with Limit from the Naked 3 Palette in the crease. Limit and Nooner are great transition shades from this palette which I reviewed as well.
Finally, Too Faced Melted Liquified Long Wear Lipstick in Melted Fig topped off the look with bold purple lips.
Today’s makeup look was all about cool neutral colors since I was wearing sliver accessories.
I knew I wanted to used my Lorac Pro 2 Palette so I opted for Cool Gray in the crease, Silver on the lid and Snow as my highlight shade.
To compliment the silvery shades I used Rockateur blush by Benefit. It is a rose gold blush that has cool undertones with hints of gold to warm up the face.
Finally I went with Jennifer’s Nude from L’Oreal on the lips to complete the look.
This eyeliner is an unusual color. It is a shimmery rose gold and since I own nothing like it I had to give it a try.
Instead of using the typical tan or white liner on my bottom waterline I tried out this color. I loved it.
White in the waterline can sometimes look too bright and unnatural. Tan gives a nice effect but doesn’t necessarily dress up your eye look.
This bright alternative is wonderful. It gives just the right amount of shimmer that is only noticeable when the light hits just right. But, it makes the eyes sparkle and brightens them up.
In addition, the pencil is very soft, making it comfortable to apply to the sensitive waterline.
Using this eyeliner won’t work for every different eye look. But, with warm shadows, a sultry evening look or an all over bronze and highlighted look a little Silkissme in Highlight is the perfect finishing touch.
This lipstick formula glides on to lips.
With a super creamy texture and opaque pigmentation, this lipstick covers lips completely with a dusty rose shade.
The color of this lipstick is unique and reminiscent of the 90s, but still completely daytime appropriate. It is difficult to describe the shade or capture it on camera, but if you have been looking for the perfect Kylie Jenner lip color your search is over.
Not only do I love the formula of these new lipsticks from Lorac, I think the range has out of the ordinary shades that are incredibly wearable.
A concealer light enough to highlight my fair skin. Every brand I’ve tried seems to lack a color lighter than my skin tone. I am always the lightest shade of foundation in the range so when I look for a corresponding concealer it at best matches my skin, but is never light enough to really highlight my under eyes.
This shade is the lightest I’ve found and the drugstore price tag makes me love it even more. It gives medium coverage and counteracts my dark circles well. I like to blend it out with a damp beauty blender to give it a more moisturizing application. My one complaint is that it still tends to be slightly drying and can accentuate dry patches on the skin so I exfoliate and moisturize before use.
Otherwise this concealer was a solid purchase. Keep it up NYX.
