Pink might be my favorite makeup color to wear. Today I combined some of my favorite pink products to create a wearable, winter makeup look.
This lipstick is scary. Just look at the dark purple packaging and deep purple bullet. I thought there would be no way that this lipstick was wearable for day or night. “Maybe just for Halloween,” I thought.
This lipstick is pink. Not purple.
I was so pleasantly surprised when I got this lipstick home and swatched it. Hunk is a bright, statement pink. Such a shade is not wearable for the daytime or the office, but for a fun night out this is just the ticket.
The formula of these lipsticks is very impressive. Since they are “Butter Lipsticks” they are very creamy and slightly shiny, but they also are very moisturizing on the lips and wear very well. When applying even this bright color I felt like I was slathering on a moisturizing balm. After just one swipe Hunk had covered my lips in the bright pink color. I was able to build it up even more dramatically with another layer, but overall the color pay-off was great.
Paying $3 for this blush, my expectations were not high.
But, I love me a hot pink blush, so I decided to test it out.
I was not disappointed. I have worn it several times and it lasts very well and is actually quite pigmented. You literally only have to dip your brush in twice to get enough product to cover the entire cheek. I am super impressed with the quality of this blush and would definitely purchase it again.
You can’t beat the price.
You can’t really beat the quality either.
This all pink look is my favorite effortless look for summer.
With Labor Day right around the corner it’s time for posts on summery makeup to come to an end. But, you can still rock this look until the weather cools off. Here are the key ingredients:
–Revlon Lip Butter in Sorbet: We all know I have an obsession with the Revlon Lip Butters. This color is a super cute, bright pink that I think screams, “Summer!”
–e.l.f. Studio Blush in Pink Passion: It’s only $3! Enough said. Surprisingly pigmented and shimmer-free. Worth it.
– L’Oreal Infallible Eyeshadow in Amber Rush: This product is BEAUTIFUL. Especially if you have blue or green eyes this metallic pink color will complement your eyes beautifully. I use my finger to apply it to my lids then blend it out with Makeup Geek eye shadow in Peach Smoothie on a fluffy brush.
You can apply these products on their own or with as much foundation and additional products as you like. I use this ensemble with my full face foundation routine, but you could just as easily use these three along with a BB cream for a lighter summer look.
In honor of what is probably my favorite holiday, National Lipstick Day, I am featuring my all-time favorite lipstick.
Of course it had to be a high-end pick because there really is nothing more glamorous than Chanel.
“The best color in the world is the one that looks good on you.” -Coco Chanel
I present to you: Chanel Rouge Allure in 88 Évanescente.
This lipstick is the perfect muted, nude pink for me. It appears slightly shimmery in the tube, but when I apply it the shade transforms into an opaque, flattering pink with the right amount of sheen. This shade flatters my complexion and instantly upgrades any look.
I bought this lipstick in Harrods so the elegant tube always brings back fun memories when I pull it out of my makeup bag.
What’s your favorite lipstick?
